I keep thinking that Christmas is still some distance away, like, oh, three weeks.  I don’t hear the “# of days before Christmas” warnings.  I know, it’s a head in the sand thing.  But now my daughter isn’t letting me get away with that.  She marks off each day and then counts and recounts how many days until Christmas.  Then she says, “And tomorrow…” and counts again.  I do love Christmas, but it’s different when you’re a grown up.  You have…responsibilities.  Gifts to buy, cards to send, figuring out who and how much to give as bonuses. The stuff of headaches.  Having a kid around does remind you that it’s supposed to be FUN.  If not carefree.  When I find myself getting stressed, I start singing Christmas carols. Can’t be grumpy and sing “Jingle Bells.”
